NCM is proud to be selected as the masonry contactor for the future home of the University of Minnesota Golden Gopher football team.
To have the stadium ready for the opening kick-off of the Fall 2009 season, M.A. Mortenson solicited a challenging schedule with stringent criteria. Few masonry contractors could compete with the capabilities of NCM to install approximately 600,000 CMU, 30,000sf of architectural precast, 300,000 utility brick, and place 2,750 cu. yds. of grout in a timeframe of 10 months.
Impressively, NCM exceeded everyone’s expectations by completing 90% of their scope of work in only 4 months. This accomplishment came through months of pre-planning, dedication from the onsite foreman and the skilled labor of over 100 men and women on the crew.
The end result is a stadium with many masonry architectural features, including a noteworthy 50ft tall Monument Wall wrapping the entire perimeter to welcome the Gopher fans. |
